iConquerMS is changing how MS research happens.
iConquerMS is a people-powered research initiative of the Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis (ACP) that brings people living with MS, care partners, and researchers together to advance MS research.
What makes iConquerMS different is that people living with and affected by MS don't just participate in research. They help guide it. By sharing their experiences, contributing to studies, and identifying the questions that matter most to them, members play an active role in shaping research priorities and advancing our understanding of MS.
iConquerMS is different.
People living with MS are the heart and soul of iConquerMS.
iConquerMS empowers people living with and affected by MS to play an active role in research. Unlike other traditional research programs, iConquerMS is governed and driven by the MS community.
iConquerMS serves as a bridge between people affected by MS and the research community. You can suggest research topics and questions that matter to you, helping shape community research priorities that are shared with researchers. You can also contribute to REAL MS, a long-running survey conducted several times a year that is helping researchers better understand how MS affects people's lives and experiences over time. In addition, iConquerMS connects members with opportunities to participate in other research studies and clinical trials. Along the way, you'll receive updates on what researchers are learning from the information shared by iConquerMS participants.
iConquerMS is not a stand-alone effort. iConquerMS is part of a national research network called PCORnet that enables collaborative partnerships to improve healthcare and advance medical knowledge in ways never before possible in the United States. People from across the country and around the world have been, and continue to be, deeply involved at every step of our work.
iConquerMS puts you in the center.
You can contribute to MS research by sharing information about your health, symptoms, and everyday experiences through surveys and other research activities. You may also have opportunities to share medical records to help researchers better understand MS.
We recognize that your health information is deeply personal, and we take the responsibility of protecting it seriously. Safeguarding your privacy and personal information is a priority throughout the collection, storage, and use of research data. We want you to feel informed and confident about how your information is handled.
By combining information contributed by thousands of people living with MS, researchers can identify patterns and gain insights that might otherwise go unnoticed. These discoveries can help researchers better understand MS, explore why people respond differently to treatments, and inform the development of more effective approaches to care.
iConquerMS is ambitious, so we need all kinds of people to participate.
We are seeking tens of thousands of participants from all parts of the country, from all backgrounds and ethnic groups, and of all ages and stages of living with multiple sclerosis. With this diversity, researchers can dive deep into the workings of MS to find out the causes of the disease and uncover potential new treatments. iConquerMS needs as many people living with MS as possible to participate in this program.

iConquerMS was launched by the Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis (ACP) and remains a core initiative of the organization. ACP is a nonprofit dedicated to accelerating MS research by fostering collaboration and making valuable research resources available to scientists worldwide. Other organizations have partnered with ACP to help advance the iConquerMS mission.
The initial funding to support iConquerMS was provided by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), an independent, nonprofit organization authorized by Congress in 2010. PCORI’s mission is to fund research that will provide patients, their caregivers, and clinicians with the evidence-based information needed to make better-informed healthcare decisions.
iConquerMS is supported by major MS membership and advocacy organizations in the United States, including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS), Multiple Sclerosis Foundation (MSF), Can Do Multiple Sclerosis (Can Do MS) and the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA). In addition, the Personalized Medicine Coalition supports the aims of iConquerMS.
