Can head cooling combined with sleep be a significant symptom reducer?

I've always had terrible sleep issues. Waking up every hour followed within 30 seconds by an extreme overheating episode with profuse sweating. Cool down, fall asleep and repeat. This was one of my first and longest standing symptoms. To combat this I use a fan between me and the bedroom window. Even on nights that are below 30 degrees, its open at least a little. On these coldest nights, I sleep the absolute best with the least interruptions. I also wake up with a freezing forehead so cold it induces a headache which goes away as soon as my head returns to normal temperature. However, the day following the brain freeze night is always extremely good symptom wise. Every single symptom I have will be at a minimum, if present at all. Even my heat tolerance is improved on these days. Ive been using this method for 25+ years but I can't not keep the temperature consistent enough or low enough in the summer to maintain a steady therapeutic result. I wish there was a medically designed system to blow appropriately cold air on my forehead at night so I don't have to over freeze my brain on those "luxury" 30 degree nights. I'd love to see a study on head cooling and sleep therapy combined and if it improves other people's symptoms as well. I can't be the only one who benefits from a processor cool down.
